History

The firm Daniel Overton & Goulding was established in 1946 when Maurice Daniel returned from the war.  He was joined by Tom Overton and the two practiced in all areas of law.  They were joined in 1965 by John Goulding who knew Tom Overton from having served overseas together.  John had moved down from Dargaville where both his father and he had practiced for many years.

Today the firm has three partners, two senior lawyers, four staff lawyers, and eight support staff as well as John Goulding continuing his involvement as consultant.

The firm has always practiced in Onehunga and has served the people and businesses of Onehunga as well as various clients from further afield.  We have always prided ourselves on accessibility to the client without compromising our professional standards.

The firm has been one of the few Auckland law practices to emerge unscathed from the merger/split trend of the 1980's and 1990's largely through a strong commitment to partnership, a concentration on traditional core legal services and values and continuity in solicitor/client dealings.
